LE TRIPTYQUE
29/07/05 - PARIS

Oscar Bueno left Europe back to Brazil just after the Jungle Drums Boat Party. Fair enough as life goes on. Then we headed to Paris one more party with the Djs Each and Magal, who later on joined Dj Oualid, Le Triptyque resident.

Le Triptyque has a free entrance police. The night club was absolutely packed and it was perfect for Anne… from Amnesty International and her 12 volunteers, who easily got 215 sign ups for the Control Arms Campaign.

It was a very crowded, sunny, electrotechhoused, successful night, and an example to show the importance of the participation of committed volunteers in a dj campaign party.

Thanks to Dj Oualid, whose professionalism in organising this party was impressive and a big thanks goes to Agnes Jany, photographers and volunteer team, all from Amnesty International who, with no doubts were the stars of the night.

JUNGLE DRUMS BOAT PARTY
24/07/05 - LONDON

Again the terrorism attacks on London Transport just 3 days before this party made a difference. Even worse, the incident 2 days before with Jean de Menezes, Brazilian, mistaken as terrorist and killed by the British police almost made Jungle Drums thinking minds to cancel this party.

Nevertheless, with all these images in our hurts making it difficult to swallow the reality we started to pass the message of peace and justice trough the Make Poverty History Campaign, not too sure if people would turn up or not.

But not even the patchy sky threatening our barbecue kept people away. We managed to sell 19 wristbands and 58 sign ups for the campaign.

Again a big thanks to Juliano Zappia from Jungle Drums and his team for organising this wonderful party.

A very special thanks to Dj Renato Ratier, Brazilian, owner of two of the best clubs in Brazil, D-Edge (http://www.d-edge.com.br/). Renato was a guest in this boat party and kindly presented a spotless electrohouse set, keeping everyone on the dance floor until the end of the party.

SUB CLUB - 21/07/05 - GLASGOW

The Instant Access and Bebado Djs collective, with their percussionists group, playing pure Brazilian rhythms and capoeira performance surprised Dj Each, Oscar Bueno and Magal in a very warm and impressive welcome.

Everybody was really gutted when we found out that there was no Brazilian in their group and all components are from Glasgow. Is it not amazing??? For few minutes we had the impression we were in Rio de Janeiro in front of a bateria de escola de samba. Wow.

Marilyn Croser from Oxfam Glasgow was one of the pillars of the Make Poverty Campaign in this party. She provided all the logistic material and was present until the end to make sure people were aware about the importance of this campaign, while Luzia was getting people to sign up. We managed to get 40 sign ups for the campaign.

It was, without any doubt, one of the most complete campaign night in this tour, with all components necessary.

A big thanks to Dj Tiff Peaches and Mike Grieve, who amazingly promoted the night, Marilyn Croser from Oxfam Glasgow for her enthusiastic help and Mr. Willy Wood and Mr. Nickolas Dumbell, from Marriott Hotels, who kindly provided 2 nights free accommodation in Glasgow for the Djs.

MACARENA - 17/07/05
BARCELONA

As Each was around in town, he received this last minute invitation to play in this little cool, charming place in Barcelona.

He played with two locals, Junior Lopez, brother of Gustavo Lopez City Hall's resident, who performed live, and Rojo, Macarena's resident. The three Djs got very well together and the crowd had lots of fun. It was absolutely packed and the party people stayed until being asked to leave, already in the early hours of Monday, with a bright beautiful sky.

Bay Street Recordings- NEW LABEL, SUPER SOUND

Photo Ezequiel Lopez

Another new label, not even listed on Discogs (the dance music bible) yet is Bay Street Records. I have no idea where the label is based, what exactly they are about and who'd behind the project.

So with that complete void of knowledge on my part, the first release is Each - 'Upside Down' E.P. which features four tunes to make you think its about 1995 again. They each have their own techno sound, and sound so wonderful! 'Blow Up' has all the qualities of early Orbital music, when it was so strong on melodies and simple drum patterns that were just so superb.

The track 'Zabriskie Point' gives me this complete memory of me around the age of 14. I was listening to stuff like this by the likes of As One in bed until 4am with school the next day, wondering why my life was so crap at that point- it provided me with complete escapism!

Looking back I can see how music really does function for you and it now all has some deeper meaning of a place, emotions or a whole era. I hope to hear many more releases of this standard from Bay Street Recordings, what a start!

CITY HALL - 15/07/05 - BARCELONA

The crowed in this party was very expressive and friendly. Barcelona is such cosmopolitan and receptive city and the clubbers loved Each, Oscar Bueno and Magal’s music.

People were really up to have their picture taken for the Control Arms Campaign and definitely this was one of the best parties of the whole tour.

We managed to get 34 pictures taken and sign ups for the Control Arms Campaign.

A very big thanks to Patricia Cantarell Rocamora from Intermon Oxfam, who supplied us with all logistic material for the campaign and a special thanks to Fernanda Pitanga, a very efficient Brazilian promoter based in Barcelona, who extremely professionally organised this party.

BAY STREET RECORDINGS LAUNCH PARTY - 09/07/05 - London

The London bomb attack, just two days before of this gig campaign night shocked the entire world.

The 240 capacity lounge-club was packed with people willing to show solidarity to the Make Poverty History campaign anyway. It was very good fun, we had almost 200 people, we sold 52 wristbands and we had 57 sign ups for the Make Poverty History campaign. Organiser: Luzia Laffoux

Dj Bagpuss (http://www.oldskoolprovider.com/) from Manchester opened the night on the ground floor, followed by Dj Each, who came with his first Ep “Upside Down”, released in his label Baystreet Recordings.

On the basement we had the Brazilians Oscar Bueno and Magal, who joined the tour from this point, showing that the underground music language is universal.

A big thanks to Emilie Grousset, Justin Tufuor, Fabricio Amaroli, Regina and Dj Ricardo Talaia, Luzia & Dj's personal friends, who spent their time with the promotion of this party and their night helping out with the campaign.
